Compare/GreenCrew vs New Relic

Uptime checker vs Observability suite

GreenCrew vs New Relic

New Relic’s blog talks about stopping incidents before they happen, which is an APM sentence. GreenCrew’s pages talk about telling customers after HTTP has already failed, which is a status-page sentence. Both are monitoring. They are not the same purchase.

What New Relic actually sells

If you want to see a slow SQL query, an LLM router, or a browser timing, New Relic is in the right category. Synthetics can ping a URL. That ping is not why you signed the order form.

Where they overlap

A synthetic in New Relic and a GreenCrew check can both fail on a 503. Users still cannot see New Relic.

Where they part

We do not have NRQL. We do not want NRQL. They do not have greencrew.space/yourhost with a form that says “checkout is degraded.” Use New Relic in the engineering channel. Use GreenCrew in the customer one.

Who should pick which

  • GreenCrew: You need a public, editable status page and a check, with or without an APM tool already running.
  • New Relic: You are buying application performance, not a page for people outside the company.
